My name is Charlotte James and I live with my partner Dave, our 2 young children and our cats in a village close to Peterhead in Aberdeenshire, Scotland (UK).

I have had cats all my life and I first came across the Norwegian Forest Cat breed in 1998, fell in love with them and have never looked back.

I am a very small hobby breeder of Norwegian Forest Cats and was granted my FIFe prefix Svartalfheim's in March 2006.

My cats are all much loved family pets and so they live in the house with us and have their very own cat room that doubles up as a nursery when we have kittens and our stud has a purpose built house and run in the garden. As we are now needing to move house to somewhere suitable for our 2 disabled children the plans for the new cat garden have had to be put on hold however once we have moved we plan to build them a enclosed cat garden with a purpose built cat house and plenty of room for their climbing frames, paddling pool and other outdoor toys so they can play, exercise and get plenty of fresh air in a safe and secure environment.

I chose the prefix Svartalfheim's as in Norse mythology Svartalfheim was the land of the dark elves and it was a solid black Norwegian Forest Cat that caused me to fall in love with the breed. A fully mature solid black Norwegian Forest Cat neuter male in full winter coat is the most wonderful sight to see and really quite breathtaking. It therefore comes as no surprise to those who know me that my first queen was solid black :-)

I aim to breed healthy and happy cats of excellent type and size with the wonderful temperament that Norwegian Forest Cats are known for.

All of my cats are FeLV and FIV negative, GSD IV Negative and none of them carry Amber
